Learn More About Me
I was born and raised in Rome, Italy, and am fluent in English and Italian. As an expatriate, I understand the importance of social connections and what it means to go at it alone. As a mother, I also know the challenges of raising children in the era of social media.
My approach is trauma-informed and holistic and aims at helping people overcome the lasting effects of trauma, decrease feelings of depression or anxiety, and navigate difficult relationships or transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Techniques (Tapping), Art Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I have experience working with adults and youth from different cultural backgrounds and have worked in various clinical and community settings, including outpatient mental health clinics and schools. I also have many years of experience providing counseling and consultation to students in Special Education and their families to eliminate social isolation and overcome emotional and behavioral barriers to learning.
For your convenience, I offer individual and family counseling in various formats: face-to-face in the office, online from the comfort and safety of your home, and outdoors as we walk and talk. I hope that in our meetings you will feel seen, heard, supported, and most of all valued.
I believe that just as hurt people can hurt people, those who are healing can bring healing to others. Therefore, to honor your work in session and contribute to the healing of this community, I donate a percentage of the insurance reimbursement to local non-profits. See the page “Healing Circle” for more details.
